Sion Power Announces Appointment of Jeff Britt as Vice President of Operations

Sion Power, a leading developer of lithium battery technology, announced today the appointment of Dr. Jeff Britt as Vice President of Operations. Britt’s responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s operations and production readiness of its new Licerion® rechargeable lithium metal battery, which is scheduled to go into production in late 2018.

“Jeff has a proven track record in management of high tech companies from R&D stage to manufacturing, which is an excellent fit for Sion’s Licerion prototype and pilot line manufacturing roadmap,” says Tracy Kelley, Chief Executive Officer of Sion Power. Kelley goes on to say that, “I am confident that Jeff’s experience will greatly augment our team and aid in the production readiness of the Licerion product line.”

Prior to joining Sion Power Britt served as Chief Executive Officer of Global Solar in Tucson, Arizona. Jeff has over 30 years’ experience in the thin-film photovoltaic (PV) industry, with a concentrated focus on Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide (CIGS). During his professional career, Jeff has held several leadership positions focusing on technology development to manufacturing, product development, and cost roadmaps.

Britt earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, where he also obtained his Master of Science. Britt also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Florida.
