
TUCSON, Ariz. – March 5, 2025 – Sion Power, a leading developer of next-generation rechargeable battery technology, today announced the appointment of Mitch Hourtienne as chief commercial officer (CCO), effective Feb. 24, 2025. In this role, Hourtienne will oversee all commercial aspects of Sion Power’s business, including customer engagements, partnerships and supply chain management, as the company advances toward commercial adoption of its Licerion® lithium-metal technology.
Hourtienne has over 25 years of experience in developing and launching new technology and sensor products for the automotive industry. Before joining Sion Power, he served as CCO at Cepton, a Silicon Valley-based lidar startup, where he led one of the industry’s most significant design wins for passenger vehicles. Under his leadership, Cepton secured a major contract with General Motors, paving the way for a successful IPO on Nasdaq in 2022. Most recently, Hourtienne played a pivotal role in the company’s acquisition by Koito Manufacturing.
